Jeong Won BBQ Buffet offers a Korean barbecue experience that centers on the interactive, all-you-can-eat style dining where guests take charge of their meal from start to finish. Located on Convoy Street, a hub for Korean cuisine in San Diego, this spot fills a niche for those who enjoy grilling their own food with a wide variety of fresh and well-prepared ingredients laid out buffet-style.

The atmosphere here feels casual and practical, tailored to both families and groups looking to spend relaxed time over a meal without the usual dining time pressures. Stations stocked with various meats—ranging from marinated sirloin and short ribs to wagyu beef and lamb—sit alongside plenty of vegetables, seafood options, and an extensive sauce selection that adds customization to every bite.

One of the defining features is its self-serve setup, which gives diners freedom to pick exactly what they want and how much, rather than being limited by pre-portioned servings. This approach appeals to people who appreciate portion control, variety, and pacing their meal, whether coming with kids, friends, or solo. The attention to detail is clear: grills are frequently changed to keep the cooking consistent, and the staff keeps the surroundings clean and refill stations fresh throughout the visit.

While the restaurant doesn’t offer alcohol, it does have curated non-alcoholic options like pineapple soju and oolong tea that complement the bold flavors of grilled dishes and banchan (side dishes) such as kimchi, japchae noodles, and pickled vegetables. This also means the venue can accommodate diverse dietary preferences, including vegetarian and gluten-free choices, making it welcoming for mixed groups.

Jeong Won BBQ Buffet tends to attract local families—sometimes after a busy day or an energetic event—and groups who enjoy taking their time with a hands-on meal. Expect a lively but orderly environment where the main focus is on the social aspect of cooking and eating together. Coming during off-peak hours can help avoid waits and give you more space to explore the buffet without rush.

Overall, this is a solid option for anyone in the Convoy Street area seeking a Korean BBQ buffet that balances quality meats and seafood with a flexible, approachable dining format. It fits particularly well for those who enjoy grilling at their own pace and want a casual spot where children and adults alike can find something satisfying without fuss.

This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Food was delicious, everything was super clean and fresh, service was impeccable. One thing about this place is everything is self serve from drinks to food. I personally love this because most places that claim to be AYCE grab the meat for you and limit portion sizes. The meats, vegetables, sides, and sauces were all delicious. The entire restaurant and even the bathroom was clean and obviously taken care of. The young girl who was working was attentive, making sure to clear plates and offering grill changes when needed. Excellent service!!! Wish I could take this place back to the east coast with me ):

Fabulous little gem that our family discovered while having a celebratory dinner. We had just finished up a jiujitsu tournament and adults and kids ventured to this awesome restaurant to refuel. My kids are 7 and 6 and pretty picky eaters. I was a bit worried what they would eat. Well, this place is so family friendly... let me tell you why! We got a wide assortment of meats for the adults and the marinated wagyu, bulgogi, chicken and bacon for the kids. The kids loved cooking their own food on the table top grill. The loved being their little chefs. They munched the rice, grilled broccoli, and carrots and chased it all down with some miso soup. The adults were well-fed with he beautiful assortment of veggies and accoutrements. We loved that we could help ourselves to the food! The service was stellar. The wait staff graciously tended to our large party and changed the grates quite often and really tended to every person in our group. Bravo on a wonderful spot with great welcoming vibes and showing us new comers what the experience is all about! Our picky eater kids are like champs and can't wait to come back!

Wow brings you back to home with the quality and service. They consistently asked to change the grill plates. Made sure our plates were cleared and was just overall attentive! The quality of meats and seafood was excellent. The lamb and wagyu was mouth watering. The side dishes was plenty, fresh, and delicious.

Very good place! I really enjoyed the experience, great variety, fresh ingredients and best of all “No time pressure”. Very friendly customer service overall. The best part of this place is that it can accommodate to your diet habits, either vegetarian, carnivore, keto, gluten free etc. Super recommended.

Fairly good food. I have had better, but this is not bad for the price and what you can do being it's all you can eat with self serve. Sad news is they don't serve alcohol, and some of the meats were not as tender as they could be for the cuts I selected. The banchan selection was pretty good, and the sauces were so numerous I almost suffered decision paralysis. The grills do stick a lot and over burn some of the meats being they're not oiled prior to use, so I had to get mine changed about 5 times just by myself. The hostess/server was very nice and on top of grill changes and serving my tea and other needs. I may return, but I'm going to check out other locations for comparison.

My husband and I had a great time here, it has a cozy and cute vibe. The food was so delicious too, we got up to get more four times! Shoutout to our server, Andres, who was so friendly and attentive the entire time. He made sure we had everything we needed and explained the food bar well, he added to the great experience. For the price, this place is beyond worth it. If you’re looking for delicious KBBQ with great service and a welcoming vibe, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

Delicious all you can eat barbecue at Jeong Won! Loved the Wagyu and other beef the most, couldn’t get enough of it. Really relaxed vibe and like the all you can drink fountain drinks. The staff was great, very friendly and took the time to clearly explain things and checked on us often. Definitely recommend!
